Two compact tools. English says “too much”; Japanese fuses すぎる onto the stem: 食べすぎる (overeat), 高すぎる (too expensive). And for doing two things at once, English uses “while ___-ing,” Japanese uses 〜ながら: 歩きながら話す (talk while walking).
