This is the big unlock for reading. English hangs description after a noun with “who/that/which” — “the movie I saw.” Japanese puts the whole clause before the noun, with no connecting word at all: 私が見た映画 (literally “I-saw movie”). Once this clicks, real Japanese sentences stop looking like walls.
